Assistant/Associate Professor (Kinesiology & Sport Management)

Location: Prairie View, Texas, United States; onsite faculty position.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience within the assigned university salary range.

What you will do

• Teach engaging undergraduate and graduate courses in sport management and related kinesiology areas.
• Design and revise curricula to meet disciplinary standards, accreditation criteria, and workforce needs; develop new sport management course modules.
• Integrate instructional technologies including motion capture systems, wearable fitness devices, virtual simulations, and AI-assisted learning tools.
• Supervise student research, internships, capstone experiences, and research projects involving design, data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation.
• Establish a sport management research agenda, pursue external funding, publish in peer-reviewed venues, and present findings at conferences.
• Contribute to committees, accreditation, interdisciplinary initiatives, student organizations, community partnerships, outreach, and faculty mentoring.

Requirements

• Ph.D., Ed.D., or D.S.M. in Sport Management or a closely related field; ABD candidates must have the doctoral degree conferred by the start date.
• One to three years of teaching experience in higher education.
• Demonstrated excellence teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in kinesiology or related disciplines.
• Evidence of an emerging or established research agenda in sport science, sport management, e-sport, or related fields.
• Record of scholarly publication in peer-reviewed journals or edited volumes.
• Ability to mentor and advise students in academic and professional development.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary academic environment.
• Commitment to teaching, research, and service consistent with hirify.global’s mission and goals.

Nice to have

• Success or strong potential in obtaining external research funding for sport management projects.
• Expertise in sport management.
• Experience integrating AI tools, virtual simulations, or motion capture systems into teaching or research.
• Community-based engagement or outreach experience.
• Active participation in SHAPE America, COSMA, NAKHE, or similar professional organizations.
• Experience with program accreditation, curriculum development, and assessment.
• Interdisciplinary research or academic collaboration experience.
