Sr Personal Lines Underwriter (Hybrid)

Salary: USD $87,000.00–$113,000.00 per year

What you will do

• Quote, accept, decline, modify, cancel, and renew personal lines risks within the assigned authority level and underwriting guidelines.
• Consult with agents, PLMS, and other departments on risk eligibility, rating, coverages, underwriting appetite, and policy issues.
• Analyze assigned agencies and territories using policy counts, written premiums, loss ratios, large losses, business quality, submissions, and cancellation trends.
• Develop, implement, and monitor profitability improvement plans for under-performing agencies, including APIP recommendations and follow-up.
• Review submission trends, identify common risk characteristics, resolve escalated technical issues, and recommend workflow, reporting, and agency management improvements.
• Participate in agency visits, rate-change and system-enhancement meetings, agent reviews, and new-hire training.

Requirements

• Superior financial and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong PC skills, including strong Excel skills.
• Ability to apply knowledge of coverage forms, rating plans, underwriting guidelines, risk classification, pricing, and company underwriting standards.
• Ability to comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
