Electrical Design Automation Intern – AI & EDA Automation

Location: Livermore, California; regular day shift

Pay: $30.95–$40.64 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and background

What you will do

• Develop Python frameworks and reusable libraries for Signal Integrity and Power Integrity simulation automation.
• Create structured data models for electrical design requirements, constraints, and specifications.
• Implement LLM-based methods for converting natural-language engineering requirements into machine-readable design objects.
• Connect Python automation with Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, and data analysis tools to generate simulations, execute analyses, and extract results.
• Build proof-of-concept workflows covering specification parsing, simulation project generation, design-rule validation, and reporting.
• Collaborate with SI and PI engineers and document software architecture, APIs, engineering use cases, and future AI-enabled workflows.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Basic understanding of software engineering practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Coursework or experience in Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, electromagnetics, high-speed digital design, or RF engineering.
• Experience with Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, Cadence, Synopsys, or other EDA tools.
• Experience with data science or machine learning frameworks.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming, Git, LLMs, prompt engineering, agentic AI workflows, or engineering automation tools.
