Accounting Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States. Onsite.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage daily accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account and bank reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, expense reporting, and accounts payable and receivable support.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and prepare schedules for the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
• Investigate balance-sheet discrepancies and maintain complete, accurate records in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Support financial reporting packages, management analyses, budgeting, forecasting, cash reporting, audits, tax activities, and external reporting.
• Help establish, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, systems, reporting processes, and automation initiatives.
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting questions and reporting needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience supporting monthly close and financial reporting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar systems, plus Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR.

Nice to have

• CPA, CPA-eligible status, or progress toward CPA licensure.
• Public accounting experience, including Big Four or regional firm experience.
• Experience in a startup, aerospace, technology, manufacturing, or other high-growth environment.
• Experience with accounting-system implementations, process improvement, automation, ERP systems, and integration of accounting data from operational systems.
• Experience supporting audits, tax filings, external reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis.
• Experience documenting processes and developing effective internal controls.
