Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Nuclear)

Crane Aerospace & Electronics manufactures harsh-environment sensors for neutron radiation measurement, nuclear reactor power monitoring, UV flame detection, and downhole radiation detection.

What you will do

• Support daily manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create and revise manufacturing travelers, routers, and work instructions to improve process accuracy and efficiency.
• Evaluate and disposition non-conforming materials, products, and equipment with quality and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Product Line, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams on product development and process improvement.
• Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of product and process failures.
• Analyze production and quality data, optimize processes, and contribute to scrap reduction.

Requirements

• Currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles, with some exposure to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and ability to solve testing problems involving interfaces with existing equipment and human engineering considerations.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations relevant to product development and testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with SolidWorks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
