Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States; office-based duties combined with physical work in field or production environments.

Pay: $18.00–$37.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
• Improve material handling methods and perform time studies.
• Analyze workstations and production cells to improve productivity and quality.
• Provide technical support to production personnel and input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
• Assist with plant layout, workstation design, and documentation for new product launches.
• Learn and use ERP manufacturing software while contributing ideas to continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or another related Engineering field.
• Completed at least sophomore-year coursework or equivalent.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Ability to shift focus between detailed cognitive work and occasional physical tasks.
• Ability to perform office and production-floor duties, including extended computer use, sitting, walking across various terrains or shop floors, standing, climbing stairs, moderate lifting up to 50 pounds, and working around varying temperatures or noise levels.

Nice to have

• Experience in welding, machining, or fabrication.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with 3D printing.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Exposure to Lean and 5S concepts.
• Mechanical, manufacturing, or assembly skills.
