Senior Manager, Logistics Analytics & Optimization

Location: Newport, Kentucky, United States; hybrid, full-time.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of advanced analytics and engineering professionals, setting KPIs, priorities, staffing plans, and delivery commitments.
• Define analytics roadmaps for freight routing optimization, capacity utilization, cost structures, continuous moves, dedicated fleets, loop-based networks, and specialized routing.
• Integrate operational and commercial data to evaluate constraints, service-level trade-offs, margin, network efficiency, and scalability.
• Direct automated analytics frameworks, repeatable network-evaluation models, data pipelines, dashboards, KPIs, and operational reporting.
• Partner with Product, Sales, Operations, Data Science, and commercial leadership to deliver scenario analysis, recommendations, and decision-support products for 3PL and 4PL businesses.
• Present freight economics, optimization outputs, and econometric analyses to executives while establishing governance, documentation, adoption KPIs, and continuous-improvement feedback loops.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or supply chain network design, including 3+ years directly managing advanced analytical or engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in operations research, network optimization, commercial freight economics, routing, capacity planning, and service-level trade-offs.
• Advanced SQL and Excel skills, including complex formulas and scenario modeling.
• Experience with databases, ETL workflows, and large-scale operational datasets.
• Experience building dashboards and operational metrics in Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
• Proven ability to manage costs, oversee staffing, and achieve upper-level strategic results.
• Experience guiding data science or analytics teams in deploying AI-powered decision-support tools, conversational analytics, or automated diagnostic workflows.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, communication, executive-presence, negotiation, coaching, and cross-functional alignment skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with VBA or legacy analytical tools.
• Hands-on Python experience for data analysis and modeling.
• Experience with the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.
• Practical experience applying agentic frameworks, such as tool-calling and semantic layers, to commercial reporting and root-cause analysis over transportation datasets.
