System Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Onsite at an HPE office in the United States; salary information specifies California

Salary: $120,500–$243,000 annual base salary in California, United States. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design and develop enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software and distributed products.
• Analyze architecture and define coding, programming, integration, and testing activities.
• Write testing plans and documentation, debug code, and resolve integration issues.
• Lead project teams of software systems engineers and internal or outsourced development partners.
• Collaborate with management, architects, development partners, and other stakeholders on design status, progress, and issue resolution.
• Represent the software systems engineering team on complex development projects and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• 4+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with one or more of Golang, Python, or Java.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures using Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, RPC frameworks, WebSockets, databases, and big data technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including SQL and NoSQL database knowledge.

Nice to have

• Understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts and production integration patterns.
• Experience developing software that interfaces with ML models and AI services.
• Knowledge of data preprocessing and feature engineering from a software implementation perspective.
