Principal AI Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Coppell, Texas, United States, with office attendance 8 days per month. Applicants may be required to appear onsite at a hirify.global office during the interview process.

Compensation: $107,500.00–$188,400.00 USD per year, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Define the enterprise AI architecture strategy and target-state architecture across the Audit & Assurance portfolio.
• Establish reference architectures for agentic workflows, multi-agent orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, semantic search, AI-assisted content generation, and AI-supported analytics.
• Create reusable AI platform capabilities and architect solutions for audit engagement, risk assessment, evidence management, compliance, anomaly detection, and quality review workflows.
• Design bounded contexts, domain-driven architectures, API strategies, event contracts, and scalable multi-agent systems using manager–executor, planner–executor, blackboard, event-driven, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Define frameworks for memory, context, tool usage, routing, evaluation, and AI safety.
• Lead architecture reviews, design governance, ADR creation, technical decision-making, and coaching in AI architecture, distributed systems, performance, reliability, and trade-off analysis.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture.
• 7+ years designing large-scale SaaS and distributed systems.
• Proven experience architecting enterprise AI systems in production and designing AI-enabled enterprise applications.
• Deep expertise in Azure, Kubernetes/AKS, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and large-scale platform modernization.
• Strong hands-on software engineering experience with C#, .NET, Python, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing systems across Audit & Assurance domains including engagement workflows, evidence management, analytics, compliance, risk assessment, and review automation.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with multi-agent architectures, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Foundry Agent Service, Model Context Protocol, and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with offline evaluations, golden datasets, confidence scoring, hallucination mitigation, and human approval workflows.
