Senior Technical Writer (Contract)

Location: Hybrid role based in the New York City office, with expected office attendance 2–3 days per week.

Salary: $80–100 per hour, depending on experience; compensation varies based on candidate factors and work location.

What you will do

• Learn hirify.global products and services and create discussion guides and other artifacts for stakeholder sessions.
• Coordinate knowledge intake from cross-functional subject matter experts, including scheduling and follow-up communication.
• Lead in-person and virtual interviews to capture organizational expertise.
• Create user-friendly documentation for processes and workflows.
• Write, edit, and review content according to internal standards for style, structure, and tone.
• Oversee and contribute to the work of other writers and knowledge professionals.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in editorial content writing, knowledge management, or journalism.
• Portfolio of work or similar samples of relevant writing.
• Demonstrated ability to create high-quality written knowledge content and make complicated processes understandable.
• Understanding of contemporary practices for creating content that is accessible, usable, and well-structured.
• Ability to engage stakeholders in knowledge-gathering interviews and follow-up communication.
• Ability to manage the work of one or more other writers.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary design team and willingness to adapt to shifting priorities.

Nice to have

• Background in journalism or similar expository writing.
