Regional Director, Forward Deployed Engineering - Public Sector (AI)

Location: Washington, D.C.; U.S. citizenship required. An active Public Trust, Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, is preferred.

What you will do

• Build and lead a regional team of Forward Deployed Engineers, including hiring, setting technical standards and career paths, and coaching on engagement scoping and delivery.
• Own discovery, architecture reviews, scoping, proposals, delivery quality, milestone tracking, technical standards, and handoffs for public sector projects.
• Serve as executive technical sponsor and primary customer contact for high-priority engagements, from individual contributors through C-suite stakeholders.
• Feed detailed customer and delivery insights to Product and Engineering to inform roadmap decisions and reusable solutions.
• Launch and scale the partner FDE track by training and enabling GSI and consulting partners.

Requirements

• Direct experience managing engineers who build and ship production software.
• Professional software development experience in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience building and deploying AI-powered workflows in production environments.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Nice to have

• Active Public Trust, Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Leadership experience in forward deployed engineering, data science, machine learning engineering, or software engineering.
• Experience debugging model failures in production AI systems.
• Experience scoping six- and seven-figure technical engagements with Sales and presenting them to C-suite and engineering leadership buyers.
• Experience enabling GSI or consulting partners to deliver technical engagements.
