Senior Salesforce Engineer

Location: Chicago, United States; hybrid work with four days in-office each week in most locations.

Total cash compensation: $117,500–$172,350 annually, inclusive of annual base salary and target incentive.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support scalable Salesforce solutions on the Force.com platform.
• Translate stakeholder and product requirements into secure, maintainable solutions.
• Build and support Salesforce Agentforce capabilities, including agents, actions, prompts, guardrails, and integrations.
• Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems, including enterprise data platforms.
• Write reusable Apex code within governor and API limits and choose between declarative tools and custom development.
• Create unit and integration tests, support QA and user acceptance testing, manage releases and packages, and review and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 5 years of relevant engineering experience; alternatively, a master’s degree in one of these fields with 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of Salesforce development experience, including starting development from scratch and administration.
• Experience with Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
• Experience with Lightning components, Apex classes, Salesforce.com design and configuration, Apex Classes, Triggers, Visualforce pages, data migration tools, SOQL, and SOSL.
• Experience with SQL Server 2008/2012 and ASP/ASP.NET.
• Knowledge of Informatica and enterprise integration concepts, including APIs, middleware, ETL, data pipelines, event-driven patterns, identity and access controls, error handling, monitoring, and integrations with Oracle, Snowflake, and other external systems.
• Unit and integration test coverage must exceed 75%.

Nice to have

• Experience with Salesforce Agentforce, Einstein, generative AI patterns, prompt design, agent actions, data grounding, security controls, and responsible AI governance.
