Consultant, Capital Markets Operations

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid working model with time split between the office and home.

Salary: $67,500–$111,500 USD base pay annually.

What you will do

• Process capital markets asset servicing activities across brokerage operations, including cashiering, asset movement, DRS/DWAC transfers, and alternative investments servicing.
• Support institutional and wealth brokerage clients with accurate processing, on-demand assistance, and issue escalation.
• Analyze transactions, settlements, reconciliations, client and account information, cash activity, documents, and exceptions to resolve operational issues.
• Monitor processing timelines, service expectations, and control requirements while coordinating with peers, managers, vendors, and related operations teams.
• Review records for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with established policies and controls.
• Identify workflow and documentation improvements, support practical solutions, and provide informal guidance to newer team members on routine processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or university degree required.
• Typically 3+ years of relevant experience in capital markets, brokerage operations, trade support, or a related operational environment.
• Working knowledge of brokerage or capital markets operations, including asset servicing, settlement, reconciliation, and operational controls.
• Conceptual knowledge of brokerage principles, practices, procedures, and systems within the assigned operations area.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
• Ability to identify process improvements, maintain procedure documentation, and support policy-aligned solutions.
• FINRA Series 99 license required.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, or the ability to obtain them within 90 days.
• Equivalent experience and role-specific certifications or licenses may be considered where applicable.
