Senior Windows Systems Administrator (Active Directory / PowerShell)

What you will do

• Execute and track the Active Directory, Group Policy, permissions, delegation, and access-change backlog.
• Implement CIS security baselines through Group Policy and scripted remediation.
• Design, maintain, and document PowerShell scripts for administration, automation, auditing, remediation, and reporting.
• Manage the Windows Server lifecycle across a large enterprise estate, including building, configuring, patching, upgrading, troubleshooting, and decommissioning.
• Track work in Azure DevOps and process service requests and change controls through the Service Management tool.
• Create and maintain scripts, GPO documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and other work products in Azure DevOps while cross-skilling the server operations team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Active Directory experience, including domain services, replication, delegation, permissions, and domain controller troubleshooting.
• 5+ years of Group Policy experience, including design, scoping, filtering, troubleshooting, and change control in a large environment.
• 5+ years of PowerShell experience, including modules, error handling, remote execution, scheduled and unattended scripts, and AD/GPO automation.
• 3+ years of experience implementing CIS benchmarks or equivalent Windows hardening baselines through Group Policy and scripting.
• 5+ years of Windows Server administration and lifecycle management experience across a large server estate, including building, patching, upgrading, and decommissioning.
• Experience documenting work as it is performed, including current SOPs, runbooks, and change records.
• Experience working from a tracked queue such as Azure DevOps boards and within formal service-request and change-control processes.

Nice to have

• Task automation and orchestration experience beyond PowerShell, including scheduled workflows and automation platforms.
• Endpoint patch management experience for third-party applications and Windows operating systems.
• Third-party application packaging and deployment automation, including tools such as PDQ.
• PKI and Active Directory Certificate Services operations experience.
