Server Administrator (Active Directory/Windows Server)

What you will do

• Manage enterprise-scale Active Directory, Group Policy, permissions, delegation, and access changes.
• Implement CIS baselines through Group Policy and scripted remediation.
• Design, maintain, and document PowerShell scripts for administration, automation, auditing, remediation, and reporting.
• Manage the Windows Server lifecycle, including builds, configuration, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and decommissioning.
• Track work in Azure DevOps and process service requests and change controls through formal service management procedures.
• Maintain scripts, GPO documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and other work products while cross-skilling with the Senior Server Administrator.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Active Directory experience, including domain services, replication, delegation, permissions, and domain controller troubleshooting.
• 5+ years of Group Policy experience, including design, scoping, filtering, troubleshooting, and change control in large environments.
• 5+ years of PowerShell experience, including modules, error handling, remote execution, scheduled or unattended scripts, and AD/GPO automation.
• 3+ years of experience implementing CIS benchmarks or equivalent Windows hardening baselines through Group Policy and scripting.
• 5+ years of Windows Server administration and lifecycle management experience, including building, patching, upgrading, and decommissioning.
• Experience documenting work in real time through SOPs, runbooks, and change records.
• Experience using tracked work queues such as Azure DevOps boards and formal service request and change control processes.
• Ability to perform repetitive computer-based work and communicate with customers and team members by phone and in person.

Nice to have

• Task automation and orchestration experience beyond PowerShell, including scheduled workflows and automation platforms.
• Endpoint patch management experience for third-party applications and Windows operating systems.
• Third-party application packaging and deployment automation experience, such as PDQ.
• PKI and Active Directory Certificate Services operations knowledge.
