Senior Systems Administrator (Microsoft Azure)

Location: Remote; off-site work supporting a U.S. Department of Defense environment. The position is contingent upon contract award and funding.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, monitor, and optimize Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, virtual machines, databases, web servers, application servers, and file servers in Microsoft Azure.
• Install software, configure systems, perform maintenance, patch and upgrade infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, analyze performance metrics, and implement corrective actions.
• Remediate vulnerabilities, apply security patches, conduct security scans, and maintain compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and applicable STIGs.
• Manage Azure virtual machines, resource optimization, monitoring, infrastructure configuration, lifecycle risks, right-sizing, resource allocation, and migration to modernized environments.
• Support certificates, backup verification, disaster recovery, system restoration, continuity of operations, development and testing environment migrations, and incident resolution.
• Coordinate with government technical teams on networking, configuration management, change requests, production deployments, documentation, escalated incidents, outages, and application infrastructure issues.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of specialized application systems administration experience, including at least four years of hands-on software installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Active Secret security clearance and IT-I Critical Sensitive / Tier 5 investigation, with both requirements satisfied at proposal submission.
• CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), and DoD 8140 baseline certifications.
• Experience administering enterprise application infrastructure in complex IT environments.
• Experience with Windows and Linux server administration, Microsoft Azure environments, networking, system configurations, and security controls.
• Experience with vulnerability remediation, troubleshooting, patching, and performance optimization.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
