Data Center Technician (Santa Clara, CA)

Location: On-site in Santa Clara, California; candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance and be able to work on-site. Occasional off-hours work may be required for maintenance windows.

Base salary: $70,000–$95,000 per year for U.S. candidates, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Install, configure, test, and upgrade servers, storage, network equipment, and other data center hardware.
• Run fiber optic and copper cabling while maintaining cable documentation and management standards.
• Configure servers and Layer 2 networks and troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues.
• Follow data center best practices and security protocols.
• Support inventory management, asset tracking, data center builds, and infrastructure expansions.
• Use AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience supporting production data centers.
• Comfort using a command-line interface.
• Hands-on experience installing fiber optic cabling.
• Basic understanding of power cabling and PDUs (Power Distribution Units).
• Familiarity with Linux and other network operating systems, as well as server, storage, and network technologies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Ability to exercise good judgment, take action, and move work forward.
• Ability to collaborate with local and remote teams.
• Ability to work on-site in Santa Clara, CA.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting a large-scale production data center.
• Knowledge of routing systems such as Cisco, Linux, or Arista.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA+, or Linux certifications.
• Familiarity with Bash, Python, or Go.
