Systems Engineer (TS/SCI with Poly Required)

Location: On-site in Chantilly, Virginia, United States. A valid US citizenship and an active/current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph are required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, secure, and maintain technical solutions for complex customer-facing hosted and cloud environments.
• Define infrastructure architecture needs and deliver solutions covering capacity planning, system configuration and tuning, monitoring, backups, and hardware and software installations.
• Perform system assessments and security audits while administering remote monitoring and management systems, including agent scripts, alerts, dashboards, and periodic reviews.
• Document maintenance for computer systems and network infrastructure and communicate incident progress, planned changes, and agreed outages to customers.
• Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, application developers, vendors, and suppliers to identify, procure, negotiate, and implement high-performing solutions.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active/current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
• 1–5 years of related systems administration experience.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining systems running Windows and Linux.
• Experience with scripting, including Python, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash, or comparable scripting technologies.
• Experience with virtual machine management and Cisco devices.
• Ability to convert ambiguous requirements or problems into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with VPNs, SIP trunking, BGP, VLANs, and deployments.

Nice to have

• Experience with WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security practices.
• Experience monitoring and managing system alerts and notifications remotely.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and AWS.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as WSUS, MCM, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Preferred Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10 years of demonstrated work-related experience.
