Mechanical Engineer in Training

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada — in-office position; North York address. Travel: 10–15% expected.

What you will do

• Assist project teams with the design of mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings.
• Design heating, ventilation, air conditioning, piping, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and other specialty systems.
• Perform design calculations and select mechanical equipment.
• Prepare mechanical drawings in Autodesk Revit and develop system layouts.
• Support multiple concurrent projects and meet focused project schedules and timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–2 years of practical experience designing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, or industrial buildings.
• Coursework or focus in HVAC, Fluid Dynamics, and Thermodynamics.
• Demonstrated experience using Autodesk Revit.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to solve problems and make timely, well-considered decisions.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team-based environment and manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle.

Nice to have

• Certification or eligibility to register with PEO as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.).
• Interest in pursuing a career in building design as a Mechanical Engineer in Training.
