Intern, Electrical Designer

Location: Hybrid, Victoria, BC, Canada — 1515 Douglas Street; internship for Summer 2027.

Base compensation: CAD 20–30 per hour.

What you will do

• Become familiar with engineering plans and details and perform quantity take-offs.
• Assist with project monitoring, scheduling, and progress reports.
• Assist with computer modeling and the production of engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under close supervision of senior engineers.
• Apply proper codes and standards when producing engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and support staff.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at an accredited university.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, and engineering software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and professional interaction with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Strong commitment to integrity and ethical, fair, and responsible behavior.

Nice to have

• Exposure to computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
