Intern, Mechanical Designer

Location: Hybrid, Calgary, Alberta, Canada — 685 Centre Street Southwest

Base compensation: CAD 20–30 per hour

What you will do

• Become familiar with engineering plans and details and perform quantity take-offs.
• Assist with project monitoring, scheduling, computer modeling, and progress reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and support staff.
• Assist with engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under close supervision of senior engineers.
• Apply appropriate codes and standards when producing engineering deliverables.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited university.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and engineering software.
• Exposure to computer-aided design software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and professional interaction with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
