DevOps Engineer (Services Team)

Location: Remote, Canada

Base salary: $116,000–$159,500 CAD per year

What you will do

• Operate and improve observability platforms, AWS ECS services hosting, and internal workflow orchestration platforms.
• Build and maintain scripts, tools, and processes that reduce manual effort and improve system consistency.
• Maintain and upgrade platforms across development, staging, and production environments.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, respond to incidents and support requests, and troubleshoot issues through root cause.
• Partner with engineering teams on deployment, configuration, monitoring, and alerting.
• Write runbooks and documentation, make task-level implementation decisions, and improve reliability and cost efficiency as usage grows.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of core DevOps tools, systems, and practices, with the initiative to deliver consistent, high-quality work.
• Ability to execute tasks independently while managing time and priorities effectively.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and AWS services including ECS, IAM, and networking.
• Working experience with production observability, including metrics, logs, tracing, and alerting.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, ownership, and accountability skills.
• Awareness of security and privacy, system design, and strategic thinking in an operations environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with advanced observability tools such as Prometheus or Grafana and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
• Awareness of large-scale distributed systems and advanced containerized deployments.
• Experience with on-call or production support and debugging systems not originally built by you.
