Facilities Electrical Engineer

Location: Hybrid, with on-site work at the hirify.global site in Hillsboro, Oregon, United States.

Annual salary: $120,860–$170,630 USD.

What you will do

• Analyze and audit electrical systems to identify risks, improvement opportunities, and trends in utilization, capacity, forecasting, and performance.
• Lead complex electrical engineering projects, including design collaboration, construction oversight, cross-functional coordination, and long-term scope and schedule planning.
• Develop, review, and approve electrical specifications and maintenance procedures for power supply units and battery backup systems.
• Establish virtual sensors, create corrective work plans, report equipment health metrics, and schedule maintenance and repairs.
• Review equipment test reports, perform life-extension evaluations, plan end-of-life replacements, and manage critical spare parts.
• Partner with electrical utilities, model power distribution systems, troubleshoot issues, conduct breaker coordination and arc flash studies, and track load, capacity, and system changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in electrical system modeling, breaker coordination studies, and arc flash analysis.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing electrical specifications, maintenance procedures, and life-extension evaluations.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience managing power supply units, battery backup systems, and quality compliance metrics.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with forecasting, virtual sensors, and system performance monitoring tools.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 3+ years of hands-on experience, or a Ph.D. in a relevant field with no prior professional experience.
• Experience identifying system trends, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and with external utility providers.
• Leadership experience managing cross-functional projects and driving outcomes.
• Experience developing long-term project scopes and schedules, including change point management.
