Electrical Engineer (Facility Electrical Systems)

What you will do

• Plan, design, and oversee construction and renovation projects for facility electrical systems in compliance with industry codes, UFCs, and Air Force standards.
• Manage maintenance, repair, and operation of high-voltage distribution networks, substations, and emergency generators.
• Develop statements of work, prepare cost estimates, and manage projects from inception through completion.
• Inspect contractor work for compliance with engineering principles and project requirements.
• Perform load calculations and arc flash analyses, and design emergency power, lighting, and HVAC electrical systems.
• Maintain emergency repair and restoration plans for natural disasters, major accidents, and other operational contingencies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Experience designing, constructing, or maintaining facility electrical systems; military installation or large industrial experience is strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of power distribution, lighting systems, and emergency power, including generators and UPS.
• Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and electrical engineering analysis tools.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Familiarity with Air Force Civil Engineering processes and procedures.
