Network Engineer (Wireless)

Location: St. Louis, Missouri, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office.

What you will do

• Support the wireless side of WAN-connected AMI devices, including cellular-connected equipment.
• Work with field crews and vendors to deploy AMI equipment across the deployment lifecycle.
• Configure cellular devices for field deployment and assist with network and service troubleshooting.
• Monitor network performance, perform tuning, and conduct root-cause analysis of simple issues.
• Document activities, events, materials, issues, procedures, configurations, and performance reports.
• Support network security processes, evaluate hardware and software, and help coordinate low-risk network installations and enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business.
• Candidates without a degree must demonstrate 2+ years of equivalent relevant experience with tools, systems, and initiatives used by the client.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Working understanding of IP networking; expert-level knowledge is not required.
• Basic knowledge of network routing protocols, routing and switching technology, IP, and signaling.
• Basic knowledge of ITIL and industry trends and products.
• Basic knowledge of waterfall and agile project management processes, tools, and techniques.
• Conceptual knowledge of the discipline and limited experience suitable for an entry-level role.

Nice to have

• Wireless or cellular networking experience.
• Broader networking background; CCNA or CCNP is not required.
