Engineer, Modern Networks (Wireless Networking)

Location: Remote in the USA; must be a US Citizen. The role is based in the Hudson Valley, NY region, including Middletown, Newburgh, Beacon, Wappingers Falls, and Poughkeepsie, with 30–40% travel to local and nationwide client sites.

What you will do

• Assist with designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise wireless networks across healthcare, manufacturing, retail, large public venues, and corporate offices.
• Perform wireless assessments and predictive designs using Ekahau AI Pro or similar tools.
• Work with clients to define project success criteria aligned with business objectives.
• Participate in discovery meetings, whiteboarding sessions, and detailed design discussions.
• Document technical solutions and contribute to project deliverables with project teams.
• Troubleshoot wireless networking challenges and travel to client sites as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, equivalent work experience, and/or military experience.
• 3–5 years of experience, including military service, or relevant internship/training in wireless networking or IT infrastructure.
• Basic understanding of Wi-Fi fundamentals, RF behavior, and wireless security protocols including WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X, and EAP methods.
• Familiarity with common wireless platforms such as Cisco, Meraki, HPE Aruba, or Mist.
• Foundational knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, VLANs, DHCP, and DNS.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-friendly and team-oriented approach.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Ekahau AI Pro or similar wireless planning tools.
• CWNA certification or willingness to pursue it.
