IT Infrastructure Technician

Location: Onsite in Reno, Nevada, United States, five days a week, approximately 7 AM–3 PM. Available to start immediately and work through the end of November, with a possible extension into December.

Compensation varies based on experience.

What you will do

• Inspect server rooms, network closets, servers, network devices, racks, labels, ports, and cabling.
• Trace cables from patch panels and switches to endpoints and document the connections.
• Run simple scripts and PowerShell commands to collect device and system details under the guidance of the lead project consultant.
• Log in to servers using provided access to gather configuration and IP information.
• Interview end users and application owners about system functions, dependencies, and connections.
• Record findings in shared trackers and spreadsheets to support enterprise network re-addressing.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a technology-related program, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
• Available to work onsite in Reno, Nevada, five days a week, approximately 7 AM–3 PM.
• Available to start immediately and work through the end of November, with a potential extension into December.
• Able to handle light equipment and work in server rooms and network closets, including occasional kneeling, bending, and use of a step stool.
• Comfortable communicating with others, asking questions, and approaching unfamiliar people.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable, with a focus on documentation and accuracy.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of networking, Windows or Linux administration, or scripting.
• Familiarity with PowerShell, command-line tools, or IP addressing.
• Relevant coursework, labs, personal technology projects, a home lab, or help desk experience.
