Staff Software Development Engineer (Java/IAM)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week in San Jose, California, USA.

Base salary: $133,000–$190,000 USD per year, excluding commission, bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop enterprise-grade Identity Management Products.
• Design and implement core product functionality and key technical initiatives.
• Develop workflows and application integrations with the IAM team, Product Management, and Business teams.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver projects from inception through production.
• Mentor junior engineers in software development best practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in application architecture and development.
• Expert-level technical knowledge of Enterprise Java, object-oriented programming, object-oriented analysis, systems architecture, RESTful APIs, Hibernate, and Spring.
• Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management protocols, specifically SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
• Experience developing enterprise-grade Security or Networking products.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within the functional domain.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, take ownership, solve problems proactively, collaborate with high trust, and maintain a continuous growth mindset.

Nice to have

• Ability to leverage AI technologies and workflows to drive measurable operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container infrastructure.
• Experience with Java reactive programming.
