Senior Staff Engineer – High-Speed Validation & Signal Integrity (Semiconductor)

Location: Bristol, UK. Hybrid with office attendance Monday–Thursday.

What you will do

• Drive test-feature development and validation strategy in new-product design meetings.
• Architect end-to-end validation solutions covering software, hardware, documentation, and required bench-top equipment.
• Build test-automation software using Python or LabVIEW.
• Perform hands-on testing and precision measurements of high-speed optical components, ICs, and modules operating at 10Gbit/s and above.
• Apply high-speed signal-integrity expertise to schematic entry and PCB layout using Altium tools.
• Collaborate with design, product, test, and applications engineers; lead validation reviews, influence product decisions, and produce validation reports.

Requirements

• BSc/MSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, EE/ECE, or a closely related discipline; alternatively, HNC/HND with equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in high-speed validation or lab-based test engineering.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes R&D environment.
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business audiences.
• Self-directed approach and willingness to master new tools and techniques independently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Creative and innovative approach to difficult engineering challenges.
