Educational Consultant (Math) – Per Diem – Chicago, IL (EdTech)

Location: Based in or near Chicago, Illinois, or open to relocating there; supports districts across the Midwest, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Considerable travel beyond Chicago is required, including up to 80% travel.

Salary: $30/hour–$65.63/hour, depending on the assigned work.

What you will do

• Facilitate professional development, product training, and learning courses for teachers, coaches, school leaders, and administrators.
• Provide tailored on-site support, including lesson planning, pacing guidance, and implementation support for Ready and i-Ready.
• Help educators analyze data and apply findings to instruction; work with leaders to identify implementation successes and challenges.
• Coordinate with professional learning managers, sales personnel, and other internal professionals.
• Complete training notes and assignments on time while participating in observation, feedback, coaching, and professional improvement.
• Travel by car, plane, and public transportation, including overnight stays, and maintain a professional image with customers and prospects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2+ years of experience teaching, coaching teachers, and providing professional development in mathematics.
• Strong knowledge of Common Core State Standards for mathematics for Grades K–8, including content and practice standards.
• Fluency with digital tools and online assessments, with a high level of comfort discussing and applying data with teachers and leaders.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and their application to professional development.
• Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong time management, organizational skills, prioritization, and attention to detail.
• Computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort.
• Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in mathematics.
• Knowledge of online meeting tools such as Zoom or WebEx.
• Bilingual and biliterate English/Spanish skills.

Culture & Benefits

• Temporary, part-time, per-diem work scheduled on an as-needed basis and paid hourly.
• Professional development is generally scheduled during normal school hours, with peak demand from August through October and January through February.
• The role is not recommended as a simultaneous arrangement with a full-time role operating during school hours.
• Eligible temporary and per-diem employees may receive medical coverage after 90 days if averaging at least 30 hours per week; those working more than 20 hours per week may receive twelve paid holidays.
• All temporary and per-diem employees are eligible for accrued sick time; company laptop provided, with possible mileage reimbursement and retention of travel points.
