Math Senior Content Advisor—Product Development

Location: Remote within the United States; must work and reside within the US. Ability to travel 1–8 times per year, including trips lasting 2–5 days.

What you will do

• Oversee the research, design, development, and implementation of innovative assessment products.
• Contribute to and execute complex assessment plans and solutions vetted by Test Development leadership.
• Present as a content specialist in Technical Advisory Committee meetings and to senior leadership, including C-suite stakeholders.
• Manage client and stakeholder expectations, resolve requests, and identify and escalate complex department-wide issues.
• Lead or support client-facing meetings for standard setting, content advisory, rubric validation, range finding, data review, and related activities.
• Drive Content and Test Development training, contribute to proposal work, and review content across projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Math Education and at least 8 years of experience leading content development for large-scale summative assessments, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Deep mathematics content knowledge and proven knowledge and experience with the U.S. education system and education assessment.
• At least 3 years of experience in a people or project leadership role.
• Creativity and innovation, with a deep understanding of Principled Assessment Design, learning processes, and learning progressions.
• Demonstrated thought leadership, data-backed skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify problems and conceptualize solutions.
• Flexibility and adaptability, including the ability to pivot to reach a solution and prioritize work against deadlines.
• Strong collaboration, communication, presentation, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to travel 1–8 times per year, including trips lasting 2–5 days.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience and familiarity with innovative assessment products and their research, design, development, and implementation.
• Awareness of early childhood formative products.
• Experience creating district-level assessments.
• Experience contributing to Technical Advisory Committees.
