Senior Platform Engineer (Auth0)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; fully distributed remote team.

Salary: $136,000–$187,000 CAD annual base salary for candidates located in Canada.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain a scalable platform runtime using infrastructure-as-code across Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure.
• Architect resilient infrastructure for cross-cutting capabilities such as service discovery and routing, while establishing platform best practices.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize platform resiliency, scalability, and cost.
• Use DataDog and Prometheus to design SLIs and enforce platform SLOs; build secure-by-default infrastructure and support compliance.
• Lead complex cross-functional initiatives, align teams around technical strategies, and deliver projects end to end.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, use approved AI tools, and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of software development experience.
• Deep technical expertise in Golang, Terraform, Kubernetes, and major cloud providers including AWS and Azure.
• Experience architecting distributed systems and making complex technical trade-offs, including consistency versus availability and build versus buy.
• Strong operational experience delivering incrementally, leading incident response, driving root-cause analyses, and implementing preventative measures.
• Experience experimenting with AI models and evaluating different effort levels and context.
• Comfort working on a fully distributed remote team.

Nice to have

• Advanced Kubernetes experience, including autoscaling, KEDA, or KNative, or expertise in performance and load testing.
• Experience with Redis, Kafka, and/or PostgreSQL at scale.
• Experience building with agentic AI.
