TL;DR
Deployment Strategist (Criminal Justice Technology): Leading the deployment of correctional systems for classification, time computation, intake, and moves management with an accent on operational readiness, policy-to-procedure translation, and stakeholder adoption. Focus on coordinating cross-functional delivery, preparing correctional staff and incarcerated residents for change, and building repeatable deployment playbooks across state agencies.

Location: Remote within the United States, or in New York City or Oakland, California; approximately 30% travel to prisons, correctional headquarters, and parole offices.

Salary: $99,750 (L1) or $117,600 (L2), depending on demonstrated skills, scope, and relevant experience.

Company

hirify.global is a nonprofit technology organization building software and data-driven tools to improve outcomes in the criminal justice system and reduce incarceration.

What you will do

  • Own deployment plans for correctional modules, policy changes, procedures, and forms, coordinating Account Management, Product, and Engineering.
  • Map policies, roles, facility practices, approvals, and dependencies required for a rollout, then create readiness checklists, communications, and resident-facing explanations.
  • Build trust with classification officers, records and sentence computation staff, case managers, program coordinators, wardens, and deputy wardens.
  • Identify stalled workstreams, resolve blockers, and run the operating cadence through go-live and operational steady state.
  • Develop local champions and convert deployment experience into reusable playbooks, templates, and processes.

Requirements

  • Track record of getting a policy, process, or system change adopted by people who did not report to you in a policy- and procedure-driven organization such as government, corrections, healthcare, logistics, enterprise software implementation, or a similar environment.
  • Experience being accountable for both a system going live and people working differently after go-live; relevant backgrounds may include implementation, consulting, program or project management, technical account management, or change management.
  • Ability to independently create plans, milestones, and stakeholder maps, identify risks early, and drive execution.
  • Clear communication and disciplined documentation skills, including writing procedures, explaining policy changes in plain language, and reporting field issues to Product.
  • Ability to understand how statutes become sentence-computation rules and data models, and where implementation diverges from policy in practice.
  • Open-mindedness, humility, empathy, active listening, and steadiness when working with incarcerated individuals and correctional staff.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time, including regular visits to prisons and correctional headquarters.

Nice to have

  • Experience implementing an enterprise or government system such as an offender management system, electronic health record, or case management platform through go-live.
  • Experience working on a small, scrappy team and building repeatable processes where none existed.
  • Familiarity with corrections policy, including administrative regulations, earned-credit and custody statutes, and implementing procedures.

Culture & Benefits

  • Mission-driven work with state Departments of Corrections, people in prison and on supervision, and ecosystem partners.
  • Remote work or work from the Oakland or Manhattan office, with an annual company offsite and additional gatherings.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage at 90% for employees and dependents, plus a 401(k) with a 5% company match and no vesting period.
  • Flexible time off with 20 PTO days, 3 paid volunteering days, 13 paid holidays, and 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • One Medical membership, fertility and family-forming benefits, selected hormonal health and gender-affirming care benefits, ClassPass credit, and Talkspace mental health support.
  • Compensation is standardized and non-negotiable; visa sponsorship is not available.
