AI Engineer (.NET / Azure AI) (AI, Generative AI): Building production AI integrations, backend APIs, and transcription, extraction, summarization, and filtering pipelines with an accent on .NET/C#, Azure OpenAI, transformer models, and RAG. Focus on deploying AI models, designing AI search and agentic workflows, and solving complex software engineering problems with Cursor and GitHub Copilot.
Location: Lisbon or Coimbra, Portugal; fully remote, with candidates required to live in Portugal and be legally qualified to work there.
Salary: €27,785–€43,450 gross per year.

What you will do
- Build orchestration layers and backend APIs using .NET/C#.
- Integrate AI models into production APIs, pipelines, and backend systems.
- Develop generative AI solutions for summarization, extraction, filtering, speech-to-text, and transcription.
- Apply RAG, AI search patterns, transformer-based models, and machine learning principles.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams on multidisciplinary projects.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related software engineering roles.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong professional experience with .NET/C#, including .NET Core or .NET 6/8, orchestration, and backend API development.
- Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, ChatGPT-class models, generative AI, speech-to-text or transcription pipelines, RAG, and AI search patterns.
- Outstanding proficiency with agentic AI tools such as Cursor IDE and GitHub Copilot for code development, refactoring, and complex debugging.
- Excellent understanding of transformer-based model architectures and general machine learning principles.
- Experience deploying or integrating AI models into production environments.
- Analytical thinking, strong problem-solving ability, and experience collaborating with engineering and product teams.
- Fluent spoken and written English; must live in Portugal or be willing and legally qualified to live and work there.
