Senior PCB Layout Engineer (Satellite Communications)

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland. Swiss or EU citizenship required.

What you will do

• Own the PCB layout development cycle from concept through production release.
• Design high-density, high-speed, mixed-signal, RF, and power PCBs for advanced satellite communication systems.
• Create and maintain PCB footprints, symbols, libraries, design rules, stack-ups, routing strategies, and engineering release documentation.
• Apply electrical, RF, signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI, thermal, mechanical, manufacturability, and assembly requirements.
• Collaborate with electrical, RF, mechanical, manufacturing, and external supplier teams throughout product development.
• Support prototype bring-up, debugging, testing, design verification, fabrication, assembly, and process improvement, including automation and AI-based tools.

Requirements

• Swiss or EU citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of PCB layout design experience for complex electronic products.
• Strong expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout implementation.
• Experience with complex multilayer PCB designs, dense routing, HDI technologies, blind and buried microvias, and advanced stack-ups.
• Understanding of analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal design requirements.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and Siemens Xpedition or PADS.
• Experience managing PCB libraries, design rules, and layout processes, with knowledge of DFM, DFA, and PCB manufacturing technologies.
• Familiarity with scripting, automation, AI-assisted engineering tools, technical documentation, and communication.

Nice to have

• RF and microwave PCB layout experience.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC principles.
• Experience with HDI, Rigid-Flex, Flex, Rogers, FR-4, and Polyimide materials.
• Familiarity with HyperLynx and LTspice.
• Experience as a CAD administrator or CAD process owner.
• Exposure to aerospace, defense, satellite communications, or other high-reliability industries.
