Tech Lead (.NET/Azure)

Location: Remote within the UK, with occasional travel to the Edinburgh office during the year.

Salary: £67,000–£80,000 per year, with earning potential up to £85,500 depending on experience.

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional product engineering team and line-manage 2–6 software engineers, including 1:1s and personal development planning.
• Plan and deliver product features and enhancements, taking ownership of technical initiatives and their outcomes.
• Contribute to architecture, design, technology decisions, and the full feature and product-release lifecycle.
• Analyse, code, test, and release new features, improvements, and enhancements.
• Partner with product managers, professional services, and customers on prioritisation, scoping, technical, functional, and design activities.
• Set and drive objectives and key results with the Engineering leadership team, and interview and hire additional engineers.

Requirements

• Demonstrable leadership experience; direct line-management experience is not essential.
• Strong full-stack development experience, ideally with .NET Framework/Core, Azure SQL Server, Azure, Vue.js, vanilla JavaScript, CSS, and HTML; experienced generalists or candidates focused on frontend development are suitable.
• Experience working with agile development teams on large software products.
• Ability to break down complex work, solve difficult problems, manage risks, and consider the broader impact of design and coding decisions.
• Knowledge of a range of technologies and ability to learn quickly.
• Strong emotional intelligence, cross-team collaboration, priority alignment, and kind, supportive communication skills.
• Motivation to learn, improve products, challenge issues constructively, and ask difficult questions appropriately.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of wider Azure platform services.
• Experience with complex web interfaces containing large DOM views.
• Experience in or with the professional services industry.
• Experience significantly improving team productivity using AI workflows.
