Director of Platform Engineering

hirify.global is hiring for a platform engineering leadership role focused on internal network and cloud infrastructure platforms.

What you will do

• Set technical direction and turn recurring engineering needs into reusable internal platform capabilities.
• Own architecture and key design decisions covering cost, performance, reliability, infrastructure, and APIs.
• Stay hands-on by setting standards and reviewing code, infrastructure, IaC, and technical designs.
• Prioritize the roadmap and deliver documented, observable, self-service platform capabilities.
• Lead, hire, develop, and retain a multidisciplinary platform team while aligning priorities with cross-functional leaders.
• Own production reliability, on-call, incident response, automation, AI-assisted engineering, suppliers, budgets, risks, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Solid background in network engineering.
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team across systems, network, and reliability engineering.
• Ability to write and review infrastructure as code.
• Strong understanding of platform fundamentals, including Terraform or Ansible, secrets management, service discovery, identity and access, observability, and public cloud.
• Experience owning production services in regulated environments.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering using Claude or a similar tool for reviewing and refactoring code, IaC, and automation.
• Understanding of MCP and how agents reach tools and data through MCP.

• Experience with PCI environments.
