Perl Developer

Location: Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, or another location in the European Union. Working from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain medium to large-scale applications using Perl.
• Design and implement solutions based on OOP, MVC, and established design patterns.
• Build and maintain APIs and integrations using JSON and XML.
• Work with relational databases and ORM tools.
• Write unit and integration tests and contribute to CI/CD and continuous delivery.
• Collaborate across the full software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Experience in software development across the full software development lifecycle, including hands-on development of medium to large-scale Perl applications.
• Knowledge of web-based MVC frameworks such as Mojolicious, Dancer, or Catalyst.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, MVC, and design patterns.
• Experience with JSON/XML APIs, relational databases, ORM tools, and database integration.
• Experience with Git and version control workflows.
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI or Jenkins.
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery.
• Ability to write well-designed, testable, efficient, and maintainable code; good command of English at minimum B2 level.
• Must work from the European Union region and hold a work permit.

Nice to have

• Experience applying GenAI in a structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations.
• Interest in emerging AI-driven practices such as agent-based workflows, automation patterns, and AI-augmented development, with willingness to experiment beyond standard approaches.
