Sr. Manager, Field Engineering - Financial Services (Hunter)

Location: Remote candidates in Georgia, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, or Texas are encouraged, with a preference for the Northeast or Midwest at an office hub.

Salary: $192,100–$264,175 USD annually; additional performance bonus, equity, and benefits may apply.

What you will do

• Lead and scale a team of Solutions Architects serving the Financial Services segment within Regulated Industries Field Engineering.
• Hire, onboard, coach, mentor, and grow a high-performing technical pre-sales team.
• Partner with Sales and cross-functional teams to increase revenue and help customers succeed with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
• Maintain a strong hiring pipeline and develop team members into larger roles.
• Ensure the team maintains advanced knowledge of the Databricks technology stack and continuously improves its ability to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and mentoring.
• 8+ years of experience in the data space with a technical product, such as data warehousing, big data, machine learning, or generative AI.
• Experience acting as a trusted advisor to technical executives guiding strategic data infrastructure decisions.
• Experience leading technical qualification, technical validations, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
• Strong understanding of consumption-driven business models and long-term growth strategies.
• Experience hiring, ramping, and promoting high-performing technical talent.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and Field Engineering.
• Technical credibility with Engineering talent and leadership, plus the ability to influence and review complex, scalable architectures.
