TL;DR
Production Scheduler (Fusion Manufacturing): Developing and optimizing detailed production schedules for superconducting magnet manufacturing with an accent on real-time sequencing, material availability, and manufacturing constraints. Focus on resolving bottlenecks, coordinating internal and external capacity, and protecting critical fusion hardware delivery milestones.

Location: On-site in Munich, Germany

Company

hirify.global is a European fusion company developing the hardware and infrastructure for commercial stellarator fusion power plants, including the Alpha and Stellaris machines.

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed production schedules across multiple manufacturing work centers.
  • Sequence and re-sequence work orders based on engineering priorities, material availability, manufacturing constraints, and process changes.
  • Monitor manufacturing progress, resolve scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks, and implement mitigation plans to protect critical milestones.
  • Coordinate with Procurement & Logistics on material shortages and balance workloads across internal and external manufacturing resources.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Program Managers to reflect process changes, communicate schedule status, and reprioritize work.
  • Analyze schedule performance, identify delivery risks, and track schedule adherence, work order completion, lead times, and work-in-progress.

Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in production scheduling, manufacturing operations, or supply chain within a complex engineering environment.
  • Experience in a relevant complex engineering or high-tech manufacturing industry, such as aerospace, fusion, automotive, energy, or another comparable field.
  • Experience with production scheduling systems, MRP/ERP workflows, and manufacturing data management.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments where priorities evolve quickly and scheduling decisions directly affect manufacturing execution.
  • Comfort working close to the shop floor, identifying bottlenecks, and driving conflicts to resolution.
  • Effective communication across multidisciplinary teams and ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented approach and comfort working in an evolving hardware development environment.

Nice to have

  • Equivalent practical experience may substitute for a relevant degree.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on advanced manufacturing systems for commercial stellarator fusion power plants.
  • Develop production lines, tooling, processes, and scalable scheduling tools from the ground up.
  • Work in a small, fast-moving, multidisciplinary team with direct impact on manufacturing execution.
  • Contribute across the transition from prototype manufacturing to industrial deployment.
  • Work alongside colleagues across Munich, Zurich, and Oxford.

Hiring process

  • Recruiter interview lasting 30–60 minutes.
  • Technical screening lasting 30 minutes, followed by a technical panel with three 60-minute sessions.
  • CEO call lasting 30 minutes.
