Materials Engineer (Electronics Components)

Location: Penang, Malaysia. Full-time onsite role with 25% travel required. Day shift.

What you will do

• Source engineering materials and evaluate alternative materials or suppliers for electronics component piece-parts.
• Improve supplier quality, assurance of supply, and pricing while supporting supplier quality-improvement programs.
• Provide technical support for new product introduction, product transfer, specification interpretation, documentation adequacy, and non-conforming material disposition.
• Plan inspection and testing requirements for incoming piece-parts and train users on inspection measuring equipment.
• Analyze inspection, evaluation, and test data; provide quality feedback and follow up on supplier issues.
• Support manufacturing with material-related issues and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering Sciences, or an equivalent field, with 3–5 years of related experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels.
• Flexibility to switch roles, responsibilities, and new tasks when needed.
• Ability and desire to work under aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Resourcefulness, attention to detail, sound analytical skills, and ability to offer solutions.
