Business Intelligence Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Develop and refine Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, visual designs, and performance improvements for operational and commercial users.
• Engineer reliable ETL and ELT pipelines and design optimised Snowflake data models for efficient analysis and consistent reporting.
• Write, test, and improve production SQL and Python solutions for data preparation, automation, testing, and engineering workflows.
• Translate stakeholder objectives into reporting products, analytical models, and measurable outcomes while communicating technical decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Investigate data issues, strengthen quality controls, and improve reporting and pipeline performance.
• Contribute to data architecture, governance, documentation, access management, solution lifecycle controls, scalable BI standards, and practical automation or AI-enabled workflows.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience delivering business intelligence solutions in a live operational or commercial environment.
• Strong Power BI capability, including dashboard development, semantic modelling, visual design, and performance optimisation.
• Advanced SQL skills for efficient queries, transformations, and analytical logic.
• Practical experience building, monitoring, and supporting ETL or ELT pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
• Proficiency in Python for data preparation, automation, testing, or engineering tasks.
• Understanding of dimensional modelling, data quality, governance, and modern analytics architecture.
• Ability to gather requirements, challenge assumptions, and convert business questions into usable data products.
• Clear written and verbal communication, strong ownership, structured problem-solving ability, and a focus on dependable delivery.

Nice to have

• Experience applying automation, generative AI, or agentic AI to business processes or analytics.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, data orchestration tools, or software delivery practices.
