Data & Analytics Lead (Power BI)

Location: Hybrid, 110 Cannon Street, London, United Kingdom; occasional travel to regional UK offices is required.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the data team, including Data Engineering, with clear priorities, responsibilities, and technical direction.
• Guide reporting, data modelling, integration, and engineering work across the organisation.
• Design and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and supporting data models.
• Set standards for Power BI architecture, development, governance, deployment, reuse, data quality, security, performance, documentation, and support.
• Work with stakeholders to define requirements, prioritise delivery, and translate business needs into practical solutions.
• Build reliable data pipelines with Data Engineering, connect source systems with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, train technical colleagues, and track the Microsoft Fabric roadmap.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Power BI experience, including DAX, Power Query, semantic modelling, report design, and performance tuning.
• Experience setting Power BI standards and managing report development and release processes.
• Experience leading a data, analytics, or mixed technical team, or providing technical guidance to one.
• Practical understanding of Data Engineering, including ETL and orchestration in a medallion architecture.
• Ability to combine hands-on technical work with team leadership, planning, and standards setting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to turn business needs into practical solutions.
• Experience coaching or training technical colleagues.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, and cloud data platforms.
