Senior Product Manager (Virtualization)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Jose, California, or Morrisville, North Carolina, United States; most roles have some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations.

Salary: USD 196,350–292,600 annual OTE, including base salary and potential commission.

What you will do

• Define and execute product strategy, business goals, growth targets, and roadmaps for virtualization products and platform portfolios across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud deployments.
• Lead inbound and outbound product management, including market and competitive analysis, customer requirements, use cases, PRFAQs, prioritization, and product lifecycle execution.
• Define virtualization value propositions covering performance benchmarks, total cost of ownership, feature differentiation, and go-to-market enablement.
• Build technical and business alignment with hypervisor, hyperscaler, ISV, alliance, customer, sales, and channel partners.
• Lead cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Sales, Legal, Finance, Support, and Marketing to deliver quality releases on schedule.
• Serve as a virtualization subject matter authority, enable sales and partner communities, represent products externally, and track adoption, expansion, retention, and business KPIs.

Requirements

• Proven experience defining product-line strategy and roadmaps, with strong inbound and outbound product management skills.
• Proven cross-functional leadership across engineering, sales, legal, finance, support, and marketing, with the ability to influence stakeholders at different levels.
• Exceptional concise and persuasive communication, strong documentation skills, and the ability to produce PRDs, MRDs, product specifications, and customer-facing collateral.
• Strong technical and business fluency, including translating market insights into business cases and success metrics and explaining complex technical propositions as business opportunities.
• In-depth understanding of virtualization market dynamics, trends, TAM, and competitive landscapes.
• Significant hands-on virtualization experience across multiple industry-leading hypervisors, including VM lifecycle management, live migration, and resource scheduling.
• Knowledge of Broadcom/VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat, SUSE, and Nutanix virtualization vendors is critical, together with hands-on experience with one or more of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong foundation in storage and data management principles, including replication, migration, protection, and governance.
• Experience with containers and modern infrastructure, including Kubernetes.
• Ability to bridge product management, program management, partnership management, services delivery, support, sales, and channel functions.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience, including 8+ years in product management, product marketing, business consulting, or business operations.
• 5+ years working with virtualization across multiple hypervisor vendors, hybrid cloud, and service provider environments.

Nice to have

• MBA or advanced technical degree.
• Familiarity with hirify.global products and its competitive landscape.
• Public cloud or service provider experience.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL, SAP HANA, and Oracle Database.
• 8+ years in the storage and/or data management industry on the vendor side.
