Senior Business Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin, or New York City, New York, United States; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week in the office. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Salary: $89,500–$168,000 per year, depending on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Gather complex business requirements from stakeholders, analyze current and future states, identify gaps, and recommend functional and technical solutions.
• Translate business needs into user requirements, actionable processes, implementation plans, and requirements documentation.
• Assess and communicate change impacts, costs, timelines, interdependencies, and business or functional requirements.
• Collaborate with developers, subject matter experts, internal and external stakeholders, and management to define technical direction and deliver solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement, process documentation, training support, user acceptance testing, issue escalation, and feedback collection for complex changes.
• Guide and mentor lower-level analysts and support alignment with stakeholder objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Ability to understand relationships among facts and apply analysis to solve problems and identify root causes.
• Ability to identify improvement opportunities and translate them into tangible business deliverables.
• Ability to define project scope, manage complex projects, facilitate planning meetings, monitor strategic plans, and maintain accountability for execution.
• Ability to influence and persuade organizational leaders and stakeholders through effective presentations and advanced written and oral communication.
• Ability to build relationships across multiple business units, understand customer needs, share knowledge, and educate others.
• Ability to manage expenditures against a budget, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and adapt in a complex, changing environment.
• Working knowledge of needs analysis, requirements management, project management principles, relevant systems, and business technology concepts.
• Knowledge of principles and concepts related to the insurance industry.
