Fleet Manager (HGV)

Location: Shirebrook, Mansfield, England, United Kingdom. Full-time, 42.5 hours per week, working Friday–Tuesday.

What you will do

• Manage the maintenance, compliance and availability of the HGV and trailer fleet.
• Own Vehicle Off Road activity and reduce vehicle downtime through planned preventative maintenance, servicing, safety inspections and MOT scheduling.
• Ensure maintenance activities meet DVSA standards and Operator Licence requirements.
• Manage external maintenance providers, dealerships and breakdown suppliers, including service levels and supplier performance.
• Monitor maintenance expenditure, investigate recurring defects and drive corrective action and continuous improvement.
• Work with Transport Operations and Planning, maintain fleet records and reporting, support fleet projects and lead Fleet Supervisors and fleet administration activity as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience managing an HGV and trailer fleet within a transport, logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance, inspections, servicing and defect management.
• Good understanding of DVSA regulations and Operator Licence compliance requirements.
• Experience managing external suppliers and maintenance providers.
• Strong commercial awareness, including reviewing maintenance costs, quotations and supplier performance.
• Excellent organisational and decision-making skills in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience using fleet management, telematics and Microsoft Office systems.
• 42.5 hours per week working Friday–Tuesday.
