Transport Training Manager (Driver Training)

Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England, United Kingdom; travel across the UK required.

What you will do

• Deliver inductions, practical training, assessments, refresher training, and remedial coaching for permanent and temporary drivers across various licence classes.
• Support drivers during probation through mentoring, coaching, and ongoing development.
• Monitor driver performance using telematics and identify development or coaching requirements.
• Promote safe, legal, fuel-efficient driving and advise managers and supervisors on driver safety.
• Develop and deliver classroom, practical, simulation, webinar, and online training materials where appropriate.
• Maintain training and compliance records, produce performance reports, and work with Transport Management to improve driver standards and fleet safety.

Requirements

• Full UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence, valid Driver CPC Qualification, valid Digital Tachograph Card, and a clean UK driving licence.
• Excellent knowledge of DVSA standards, Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive, Tachograph legislation, and Road Traffic legislation.
• Experience as a Driver Trainer, Driver Assessor, or an experienced Class 1 driver moving into training.
• Ability to deliver engaging classroom and practical driver training, conduct driving assessments, and provide constructive feedback.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, communication, interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills.
• Ability to analyse telematics data and identify driver development needs.
• Competence using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and training management systems.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel across the UK to deliver training.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAFED or Smith System advanced driver training.
• Experience designing and developing training materials.
• Experience delivering training through classroom sessions, webinars, simulations, and practical coaching.
