Associate, Insurance Operations

Location: Hybrid; Overland Park, Kansas, United States. Other location: Houston, Texas.

Annual full-time base salary: $65,000–$75,000. Certain positions may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

Provides servicing and business transformation services for commercial real estate clients, including support for real estate loan portfolios.

What you will do

• Approve system-generated reports, queries, and client deliverables for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to supporting information.
• Manage written and verbal communication with internal and external clients, insurance agents, and brokers regarding commercial real estate loan servicing questions and exceptions.
• Proof cash and non-cash transactions for premium processing and maintain accurate borrower obligation data in the servicing system.
• Research and respond to inquiries from borrowers, lenders, auditors, rating agencies, and other authorized stakeholders.
• Design and build Excel spreadsheet templates and financial models using interrelated formulas, data tables, and macros to analyze insurance exceptions, coverage, and premiums.
• Monitor servicing standards and internal policies, identify provisions requiring exception processing, support reporting and special projects, recommend efficiency improvements, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically including 1+ years in an Associate-level role or an external equivalent.
• Associate degree in accounting, finance, real estate, business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience learning new tasks, achieving goals, and demonstrating professional behavior.
• Experience using Excel with multiple formulas and macros.
• Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
• Ability to identify potential problems, take proactive action, work independently within a team, and consistently produce quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimum supervision.
• Availability for adjusted schedules, including work beyond a traditional eight-hour day and occasional evening or weekend work, when required to meet deadlines.
