Senior Java Developer (ION)

Location: Madison Ave Corp, United States of America; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.

Base pay range: $175,000–$220,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and modernize complex enterprise software applications and components across multiple initiatives.
• Perform technical analysis, design solutions, and contribute to architectural and delivery decisions.
• Improve performance, scalability, monitoring, system configuration, and high-availability capabilities.
• Drive automated test suites, quality assurance practices, secure coding, code quality, and engineering improvements.
• Estimate effort, identify technical risks, plan delivery milestones, and collaborate with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders.
• Mentor associate and mid-level developers and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
• 9+ years of hands-on application development experience with strong Java expertise in distributed systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and strong SQL and relational database skills.
• Knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring JPA, REST APIs, service-oriented and microservices architectures, cloud computing concepts, test-driven development, and domain-driven design.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Experience with secure coding methodologies and designing and troubleshooting large-scale, high-availability systems.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives, switch context effectively, evaluate existing systems, and drive improvements.
• Ability to use AI tools, maintain industry knowledge and standards, adopt new technologies, and collaborate on custom solutions.
