QA Automation Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote, with the posting associated with San Antonio, Texas, United States; up to 10% travel required.

Salary: $70,000–$116,000 per year, with possible discretionary variable incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts across multiple user roles, workflows, and application features.
• Design reliable and maintainable UI automation with Playwright and integrate automated testing into CI/CD and DevSecOps processes.
• Perform manual feature, stress, and regression testing, including periodic execution of full manual test suites.
• Create and organize test suites in TestRail or a similar tool and conduct peer reviews of test automation code.
• Communicate test results, defects, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders during release cycles.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or Green Card status and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• At least four years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, or application development for enterprise systems.
• At least two years of experience supporting quality assurance and testing for AWS-based workloads.
• Bachelor’s degree or four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with manual and automated testing, defect documentation, issue reproduction, regression testing, and validation.
• Strong experience with Playwright and JavaScript or TypeScript, API testing, performance testing, Swagger, and Postman.
• Experience designing, maintaining, and integrating CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, AWS Systems Manager, and PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency testing applications and workloads using AWS, Vue.js, Python, Django, and Amazon S3.
• Ability to collaborate remotely, mentor and support team members, resolve complex technical issues, work in Agile delivery environments, and validate workloads against AWS Well-Architected Framework principles and related quality standards.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting or testing Python/Django-based web applications.
• Experience with penetration, performance, or load testing for applications hosted in AWS cloud environments.
• Experience configuring and validating monitoring, alerting, and error tracking with Sentry or similar tools.
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility testing standards, requirements, and validation practices.
